Create “Call” Times for Hair & Makeup

This is an important step. I have seen in so many weddings that everyone arrives to the location at the same time. Depending on the makeup and hair team they can only take on so many people at once. By staggering each bridesmaids call time it elevates a lot of stress and downtime. Creating call times will also allow an assembly line of hair and makeup. By doing this you will end up saving time and your team will have the availability to do touch ups on everyone before leaving.

Two looks Max

For the bride choosing the colors of the wedding is just as important as choosing the look for your bridesmaids.  Choose two hair & makeup looks before the day of the wedding. Your bridal party will look cohesive and this will allow your bridal team to be prepared ahead of time and anticipate your needs day of.

Choosing a Gift for Bridal Party

Many brides choose to gift their bridal party with something sweet on the day of the wedding. Choosing a gift for eight different friends can be tricky. One idea is to give your bridal party something they can use for the remainder of the night. Try picking out a certain lipstick or gloss that will be used day of and purchase one for each member. Maybe create a touch up kit for each bridesmaid that includes powder or blot pads for oil, lipstick, lip gloss, and lip liner. That way each bridesmaid can retouch all night long once the makeup and hair team has left for the evening.

Apply Bridal Makeup Last

You will want your makeup to last through every picture, dance, drink, and toast. Schedule your makeup as close to the end of the session as possible. While your waiting for your makeup wear some under eye masks to soothe your skin. Allow a full hour for your team to work on your look for the day. This is especially helpful if you need to tweak anything last minute.

Take a Selfie with Flash

To make sure your look is complete and not giving any flashback have a friend or family member take a picture of your face with flash on. Although your photographer can edit something like this out. You’d rather walk down the aisle knowing your pictures are going to come out flawless.
